Helium - A flying high new year
With the Aam Aadmi’s finally seeing a ray of hope for the better, as also HR consultants across our state confirming a hike in pay and man-power, and with Uday Chopra finally being declared as the most-eligible-flitwick in our country India seems to have definitely stepped into the year 2014 with its best leg forward. The year seems to have started off pretty well for our former-partyhead protagonists, WassailerBuddies, as well. With the success of their New Year’s Eve Event hosted on a hilltop, they are absolutely thrilled and already in plans for their next gig. For those who are unaware of who these insane insomniacs are, let me reiterate their
cause. These party-freakers believe in World Peace and also say that any soul on this planet can be brought close to their inner self with Muzik and Love. This band of 3 Software engineers and an upcoming promising DJ have
created quite a deep impression on their ‘MuzikalFraternity’ brethren by setting one of the longest party in the history of India! The DJ along with his console was gaurded by two giant size fluorescent butterflies, that somehow reminded us of Alisha Chinoy's 'Made In India' track where she was gaurded by two lions while she sat at her throne playing God. A big screen behind the DJ podium kept playing random tripping visualizations that gauranteed a stare! The crowd was enthralled to see an area of more than 3000 sq.ft. to dance, rejoice, roll-around,
sleep, and what-not! What's more, the venue was open on all sides which left no room for suffocation and stuffiness. It seemed these guys had somehow pleased Vayu Deva as well, and he was constantly blowing cool-heavy
breeze uptill each of these Muzik-worshippers
closed their new-year's-sunrise-seen-satsified eyes at dawn.
Apart from a small fire that was set atop a
nearby hill by a supposedly "misdirected" rocket, by few locals who requested free
permission and were denied, there weren't any points of doubt or concern. We asked Aby, the latest member of the WassailerBuddies, as to how did they manage the event so neatly without any hiccups, to which he gave a humorous smirk and started off. "There were a lot of issues, fears and risks that we had taken to host this event. But we allayed all
these demeaning thoughts and concentrated on our goal, after all it is a good cause that we are voicing out and at times such as now, all we need is hope. God was with us, or rather Gods were with us (this is India afterall ;)). Also we were backed by the support of innumerous helping minds, Zhaggy, Sasiettan, Anil bhai and manys such friends have been there with us throughout. Let's hope we are able to get our cause to the people. Love,Muzik, Peace." The WassailerBuddies are yet again in preparation for their next event that is coming up on Valentine's Day, and this time within Cochin itself for their Infoparkian friends and College Buddies near by. Let's hope even this program stands up to the standards they have already set.
